Funding Opportunity Alert: USAID Global Health Challenges
An RFP was just released announcing a funding opportunity through United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). USAID is seeking applicants who are interested in co-creating, co-designing, co-investing, and collaborating in the research, development, piloting, testing, and scaling of innovative, practical and cost-effective interventions to address the most pressing problems in global health. In the BAA, USAID explains that the goal is to reduce mortality rates of developing countries to those of developed countries within 1 generation and specifically mentions the Zika and Ebola viruses.
According to the eligibility requirements public, private, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, as well as institutions of higher education, public international organizations, non-governmental organizations, U.S. and non-U.S. governmental organizations, multilateral and international donor organizations are eligible under this BAA. The application process will consist of four stages:
- Stage 1: Expression of Interest
- Stage 2: Development of Concept Paper
- Stage 3: Review by the Peer & Scientific Review Board
- Stage 4: Contracting/Agreement Officer Determination, Request for Additional Information, Final Review and Negotiation, and Award
